From routine examinations and hygiene through to cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry — we offer the full spectrum of treatments to keep your smile healthy and looking its best.
Hygienist
Our hygienists are experts in saving teeth and keeping your smile in top condition, using state-of-the-art ultrasonic cleaning.
Cosmetic Dentistry
We consider all dentistry to be cosmetic. Using high-resolution photographs and models of your teeth, we design a smile that works in harmony with your whole face.
Fillings
Modern white fillings mimic natural tooth structure, contain no mercury and set instantly under LED light — ready to eat on as soon as you leave. Most fillings range $300–$450.
Crowns
All our crowns are fabricated right here in Auckland by highly experienced dental technicians — never sent overseas. Your dentist helps choose the most appropriate material for your tooth.
Veneers
Size, shape, colour and position are all optimised to give you a beautiful smile. Using photographs and models, we make sure your new smile works in perfect harmony with your face.
Dental Implants
A titanium implant replaces a missing tooth root, supporting a crown or bridge that emerges from the gum like a natural tooth. Implants can be combined with whitening, crowns, bridges, veneers and dentures.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment saves teeth that would otherwise need to be removed. Using advanced equipment and modern techniques, treatment is predictable and generally pain-free, with the tooth fully numbed and isolated.
Bridges
A bridge is a simple way to replace a missing tooth or teeth, usually by crowning one or both neighbouring teeth and joining them together. Our experienced dentists help you decide which type is right for you.
Invisalign
Invisalign® straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable clear aligners. Your teeth are scanned to simulate treatment from start to finish, with aligners changing roughly every two weeks.
Tooth Whitening
We draw on decades of experience with a range of whitening systems to safely brighten your smile.
ACC Consultation
Accidents happen, and teeth don’t heal themselves. Our dentists are extremely experienced in dealing with dental trauma and can have you back up and smiling in no time.
Dentures
When dentures are the right option, we work closely with a skilled technician to provide perfectly fitting, comfortable and natural-looking dentures.
Stop Snoring
A custom-fitted mandibular advancement splint (MAS) gently pulls the lower jaw forward, opening the airway and helping prevent snoring. We can advise whether referral for sleep-apnoea assessment is appropriate.

Andrew graduated from Otago in 1994, then spent over a decade in the UK refining his skills in Norwich, London and Kent. He developed a keen interest in advanced restorative procedures — particularly cosmetic dentistry and implant restorations — and became a partner at Symonds Street Dental Centre in 2006.
Karl Johnston

Karl graduated from the University of Otago Dental School in the early 90s and spent 13 years in private practice in London before returning home in 2010. There he developed surgical skills for dental implant placement and restoration, alongside a keen interest in endodontic (root canal) procedures and cosmetic dentistry.

A graduate of the Eastman Dental Hospital, London (2003) and a former AUT lecturer, Bronwyn has worked in hygiene and therapy roles in the UK and New Zealand. She loves building long-term relationships and works with patients of all ages.

Heather is a highly experienced dental hygienist who provides gentle, thorough hygiene care for our patients.
Vicky Bull
Dental Hygienist
Vicky trained as a Dental Hygienist at the University of Otago, graduating in 2007, and joined Symonds Street Dental Centre in 2013. A registered member of the Dental Council, she keeps up to date through regular seminars and workshops.

Includes a written treatment plan with costs. Panoramic x-ray additional $110 if required.
